Why We Need Entomologists in Pakistan
Entomologist specialises in insect identification, pest control and the rearing of beneficial insects. The entomologist’s job is to provide safety from harmful insects and to take benefit from beneficial insects. Ex, from honey bee human, takes honey. Scientists from the Department of Entomology are aware of the diseases caused by sucking and biting insects and also warn about crop damage from insect pests.
As we know that Pakistan is an agricultural country. Majority of people belong to agriculture. These people grow crops to provide them with daily breeding and profit. Sometimes these crops are damaged due to insect pests. For protection from insect pests, we will need the Entomologist. Entomologists give details about insect life cycles from which we know their destructive stages. Protection from economic loss Entomologist explains control strategies (Natural control, physical control, mechanical control, cultural control and chemical control).
In the health department, a medical entomologist is also necessary because Pakistani people suffer from insect parasitic diseases like dengue, malaria and leishmania etc.
